Final Reopening Advice

ACTION – BBMS SHED REOPENING, FEES and COVID MARSHALLS

We can now confirm the Shed will reopen at 1pm on Monday 8 November. As you know, there is still a lot of covid virus circulating in the community and the Committee takes the health of members seriously especially as we are in a ‘higher risk’ older group. The Council have now notified us of the conditions for reopening, which combined with our own requirements are summarised below:

  • The capacity of the Shed will be restricted to 17 people.

  • All members must be double vaccinated (exemptions are not acceptable)

  • There will number limits for each of the side rooms, as indicated by signs alongside the entry door

  • The tea break will be conducted differently – the mugs, tea coffee etc will be accessible only via the hatch. The provision of biscuits will be suspended. BYO own food.

  • Masks must be worn except when eating/drinking

  • Social distancing of 1.5m should be observed

  • Hand sanitizer must be used

  • All tools and surfaces must be cleaned with disinfectant after use

  • A Covid Marshall (CM) will be present to administer the rules

On arrival at the shed:

  1. Sign the register

  2. Check in using the QR code if you have a smartphone

  3. Present your vaccination certificate to the CM

  4. Sanitise your hands

  5. Pick up and wear a disposable mask

  6. Follow the CM instructions for tea break

At the end of the session:

  1. Clean up your area and disinfect the surfaces

  2. Disinfect the tools you have used prior to returning them to the tool store

  3. Contribute to cleaning the general areas and disinfecting the large machines.

  4. Dispose of your mask in the green garbage bin

This may all seem very prescriptive but it is necessary for your safety – please take it seriously as strong compliance will ensure we stay open. We will review the conditions after two weeks of operation

We look forward to seeing you soon at the Shed and would take this opportunity to REMIND MEMBERS WHO HAVE NOT PAID THEIR FEES to do so as soon as they can.

We also need more VOLUNTEERS to act as Covid Marshalls for the two week trial period - Click here to see which sessions are open. Any sessions with no volunteer will not be held.
